The 4 Major Alaskan Cruise Groups

The spectacle of Alaska cruising attracts a wide range of cruise liner groups. These Alaskan cruise companies offer ships with different features, programs, services and even different layouts and different kinds of rooms.

  

One of the most popular and worth checking out is Royal Caribbean. This company is caters for cruise travellers all over the world and offers cruises in the Caribbean as well as around Alaska. There are an extensive range of activities on these ships and these include fitness centers, a casino and live entertainment shows. Children’s programs for different age groups mean that kids are occupied on board.

The Alaskan Royal Carribbean fleet includes The Serenade of the Seas departs from Vancouver and stops in Juneau. It also passes the tidewater Hubbard Glacier with a calving face of over 6 miles. The Rhapsody of the Seas, leaves Seattle and travels an Alaskan cruise route that takes its passengers to Juneau and Skagway in the Marine Inland Passage and Victoria off the coast of Vancouver in British Columbia.

Another well patronized cruise company is the Norwegian Cruise Line. The ships Seattle's Norwegian Pearl and Vancouver's Norwegian Sun travel the Alaskan cruise routes. Different restaurants on these ships provide different dining options and these include a lounge, casino bar, champagne bar and a sports restaurant. Entertainment is an important aspect of this company’s cruise programs and options include live shows, a casino and groups for kids of different ages. Rooms vary and include suites.

One of Holland America’s most notable characteristics is its luxurious cabins and luxury services. Passengers can enjoy the luxury of first class accommodation. Furnishing and service is most assuredly high end. The most impressive suites include luxurious beds, sitting areas and even dressing areas. Spas and reservation -only restaurants are other aspects of this truly luxurious cruising line. The Statendam sails out of Seward, Amsterdam sails from Seattle and Voldendam sails from Vancouver.

Celebrity Cruises offers cruises along the Alaskan coast and fully escorted land tours. Luxury and entertainment are features of this cruise fleet and includes spas, casinos, variety shows, dances and even movies. Its Celebrity X Club Youth program provides kids programs for various age groups. There are two cruise liners based out of Vancouver from Celebrity. The Celebrity Millenium travels out of Vancouver to Seward, Icy Strait Point and Ketchikan. The Celebrity Mercury also out of Vancouver features the Hubbard Glacier and Sitka and Ketchikan in the Inland Passage.
