An Alaska small cruise ship can take you for an ‘up close and personal’ experience where large cruise ships cannot.
Some of Alaska’s glaciers are located at the end of fjords not accessible by large cruisers. The spectacle of Tracy Arm just south of Juneau is a good example. Although your budget will need to be larger for an Alaska small cruise ship experience where the cost reflects the smaller number of passengers, you are likely to pay most of your fare up-front as there is less opportunity to spend money on board. If you book early on one of these small cruises ships you are also likely to enjoy a discounted fare. So consider the benefits of a more personalized cruise experience as you plan your visit ‘north to Alaska’.
