Why Cruise on these Alaska Cruise Ships

Not all Alaska cruise ships are the same.  Different cruise companies feature different itineraries, entertainment and food and attract different types of travelers.  Take a look at what the following cruise lines have to offer on their Alaskan cruises and see of they appeal to the traveler in you!

Norwegian Cruise Line

The Norwegian Pearl and Norwegian Sun are the two Alaska cruise ships from this line which is owned interestingly by a large Asian shipping company.  Well known for the quality of their entertainment as well as their health facilities and activities, Norwegian Cruise Line largely target American couples aged from their mid thirties to their mid fifties with their families who enjoy active cruise involvement.  There are a range of different dining facilities on these ships and health and fitness facilities that range from jogging tracks and spas to personal trainers.  Accommodation can cater for up to six in some staterooms.

Princess Cruises

Part of the marketing of cruising vacations in the late 1970’s took place on a Princess cruise ship in the television series ‘The Love Boat’.  Mainly American families travel on these seven Alaska cruise ships and the summer months are their busiest seasons.  Longer Princess cruises attract retirees.  Entertainment includes a wide range of activities including culinary classes, wine tastings and pottery, technology and photography classes.  Live shows and live bands feature at night and dining opportunities vary from formal to the more relaxed.  There are a large number of very spacious staterooms on these ships and all rooms have good storage facilities.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises

These stylish almost all inclusive cruises are elegant, exquisite experiences that attract active, experienced travelers with a healthy vacation budget who range in age from mid thirties to the over sixty age group on longer cruises.  These Alaska cruise ships are well equipped with health and fitness facilities but these areas are not extensive.  Food is outstanding and dress code for dinner and nightly activities include sports coat with optional wearing of ties.  Revues, cabarets and live bands perform during evenings and selected wines and spirits are complimentary at all bars.

Matching your needs to the facilities and itineraries provided on these Alaska cruise ships is a pleasant task you can undertake with the assistance of a travel agent if you choose.  If these cruise line offerings don’t appear to include what you want take a look at other cruises to Alaska on this website.

Egan canoeist sets out for Gulf

For years, Brian Gundvaldson has launched his canoe into the Big Sioux River from his nearby home in Egan to go catfishing or simply cruise the waterway. Thursday's launch, however, was quite different for the 30-year-old canoe enthusiast - about 2,100 miles and 40 days different. Gundvaldson, along with 160 pounds of supplies, began a solo river expedition to the mouth of the Gulf of Mexico ...
